Book Bio
Growing up in Monticello, Florida, Rebekah Aman began writing Tiweln's Redeemer at the age of fifteen. She now attends Florida State University, where she will graduate with majors in accounting, finance, and psychology in the spring of 2012.
Beyond the Bio
Although I love to write, there are numerous other things I enjoy. Reading is an obvious - shout outs to Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (especially for their Pendergast series), Gena Showalter for her young adult Intertwined series, Patrick Rothfuss for the marvelous Kingkiller Chronicle series (love the two titles out: Name of the Wind and A Wise Man's Fear), and there are numerous others I won't list here. However, if you're into classics, try Baroness Orczy's The Scarlet Pimpernel, Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Robe by Lloyd C. Douglas. I've read books of almost all genres, so if you would like recommendations or have some to give me, please enter them below.
Literature is not my only love though. While I don't listen to much of it, I do enjoy music immensely. I play a little piano (thank you Lisa for playing duets, we really should do more), am currently in a handbell choir, and above all else, I adore singing. I visit numerous churches to sing solos, and I've sung at weddings, graduations, funerals, and fundraisers. I am in a choir at one church (thanks to Ashlee for coming with me) and sing once a month with a praise team at another. Recently, I was in a play at the Monticello Opera House, playing Sister Sophia in The Sound of Music presented by M & M Productions. That was a wonderful, if time consuming, experience, and I got a taste of acting as well.
On another artistic side, I love carving pumpkins for Halloween (click here to view my past 3 years' creations)! I draw, cross-stitch (which I do most often), and I recently sewed a dress. Chalk pastels and colored pencils are my mediums of choice if I don't have a needle in my hand, although I have dabbled with stained glass creations and adore scrapbooking.
Here, I'm going to send a thanks to all my friends (Ben, thanks for the website help) and family (Mama and Daddy, I couldn't have done it without your support), and all those who have helped me along the way. Thanks to my teachers and even employers for all you've taught me. Thanks also to Tate Publishing for giving me this help; you've all been wonderful at every stage!
If you have any questions, be sure to ask below. I wish you all a marvelous day.

I do not have a question, but....
I am ready to write a good review/report about your presentation in class for the school's newspaper! I can't wait for the release of the hardback copy and for the opportunity to have you sign it!
-- Ms.Cartright's Student
Thank you so much for your support! If you would like to go ahead and put your name down for a hardback you can send me an email at aman.rebekah@gmail.com so that you can be sure to get your copy from the first batch (they should be here by the end of January). Be sure to include with your name and type of book (signed hardback) that you could be reached in Ms. Cartright's office during whichever period so that I can be sure to find you. I'm sorry this response is coming so very late; I haven't been checking this site as often as I should. I wish you a Merry Christmas!!

Would just like to say I am so very proud of you Rebekah! I hope all of your dreams come true! I hope this book will be available for the nook soon that would be awesome...I def will purchase a piece of your history! Keep up the great work!
-- Lora (McCoy) Shepherd
Thank you so much! Mom wanted me to tell you that she missed talking to you. As far as an electronic version, there is one available now, but I don't know much about the differences in e-readers, so it may not work on the Nook. I know it works on Kindles. If you look under my Scheduled Signings tab and click on the Tate Publishing link there, it will take you to a page where you can order an e-book for $9.99 (at the bottom below the paperback). I would guess that will work. If not, it will definitely be available March 6!

Congrats Rebekah! Very happy for you! You finally made it to published author, keep up the excellent work! You have definitely got to sign a copy for me, girl! I'll be able to put your book on my shelf and say "I know the author". Awesome!
-- Alfa Hunt
Thank you, Alfa. Who would have thought this possible back when we were first bandying ideas around in 10th grade? Just give me a call sometime to let me know when you're available to meet up - we could get lunch again maybe - and I can get your copy to you.

How did you come up with all the names for the characters, locations, and objects? I am expected to write a review/informative article for the school newspaper and would like some guidance in what I should include in the paper. Any advice would be helpful.
-- Emily (Ms.Cartright's Student)
That is a popular question. Let's see...as far as character names, I just made them up. I would think up different words and change them a little until it sounded right and matched the character. Many of the location names, however, are descriptions of the places in the language of the elves, Alzam. Although, often I had to alter those slightly so they were pronounceable. For example, Cinnaca originated from commerce because that continent is the center of commerce in Tiweln. I changed the word a bit from its counterpart in Alzam to make it sound prettier. The creature names I made up from scratch. Hope this helps, and if there are any other questions I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask!

Hello! My husband purchased a copy of your book for me during your book signing at Northwood Mall. I later introduced myself and asked if you were on Goodreads. I went ahead and added Tiweln's Redeemer so that I could keep my friends updated on the progress on Facebook. If you haven't signed up yet, there's a special author link for you at http://www.goodreads.com/author/confirm/5829295.Rebekah_Aman. Hope to see you on there!

That sounds great; thank you so much! I did sign up but haven't done much with the account yet. I will definitely check out the link.
